TOR @ OAK 5/9/09

TOR 6 OAK 4

Sean Gallagher RHP Athletics 5IP 10H 4R 3ER 3K
He is a FB,CB, SL, CH pitcher that throws a lot of strikes. His FB(90-93) is an above average offering; CB(73-74) is average and he left it up a couple of times and was hit hard; SL(84-88) was flat and fringe- average at best; CH(77-81) is below average and straight and he left it up a lot. He profiles to be a #5 starter or long reliever.

Kevin Cameron RHP Athletics 2.0 IP 1H
He works with mainly CUT, SL. His CUT(87-91) is an average offering and his SL(80-81) is also average. He profiles to be a middle reliever with two average pitches.

Jerry Blevins LHP Athletics 2.0IP 4H 2ER 2K
He showed an average FB (87-90) with an average and slow CB(69-71) and a straight CH(81). He is probably a lefty specialist.

Brian Tallet LHP Blue Jays 7.0IP 2H 1ER 2BB 7K
He has four average or below average offerings but was able to mix his pitches well enough to go 7 strong innings. His FB(85-89) is below average; CUT(83-87) is average; SL(79-80) is average and his CH(79-80) is a good offering and he throws to both righties and lefties. He is a back of the rotation starter (#5 or spot starter) with average command.

Jesse Carlson LHP Blue Jays 1IP 1H
He is a short lefty with a funky delivery and average stuff. His FB(88-89) is average; SL(82) is his best pitch and tough for both lefties and righties to hit. He is a solid bullpen guy.

Scott Downs LHP Blue Jays 1IP 5H 3ER 1BB
Downs had a terrible outing and it may have been due to the fact that it wasn't a save situation. He left his pitches up but showed average to above average stuff. FB(88-90) is average; CB(76-77) above average; SL(81-85) is average, but sharp. He has great strikeout numbers and I think this was just a hiccup and he'll be fine the rest of the year.
